WAVE FRAGMENTS: Villiers-sur-Mer, France
The clear and salted water draws its motion on the wet sand.
The waves from the tide progress on the shore before slipping back to the open sea.
Simple overlaying lines remain on the beach, as marks of elapsing time.
For the Villa d’Eaux, curated by The Spaceless Gallery, Noémie Lacroix painted just like the waves on the shore, two vertical fragments of flowing silk. Soaked by the sea colours and suspended in the patio of this intimate shelter, they are an invitation to tranquility. Peaceful and poetic, they have been designed with the same spirit as their surroundings, a building that has remained unchanged since 1913: out of time.
