Born in 1988, Quentin Derouet graduated with honors from Villa Arson in 2012, receiving the Nice City Prize for his masterful and minimal gesture: the poetic trace of a crushed rose on a wall. He now works between his two studios in Paris and Aveyron, in the South of France.

Between 2012 and 2014, Derouet pursued various conceptual projects, including Le Cirque Noir, for which he created a perfume, and Intention, during which he developed The Little Mathematical Theory of Poetic Spaces. In 2014, he collaborated with Fabrice Hyber and the Meilland Society, a renowned rose producer based in Salon-de-Provence, to cultivate a new rose variety designed to leave the most exquisite trace when crushed against a surface. This collaboration inspired a series of paintings exploring the most primitive marks, drawing connections to parietal art, while questioning the nature of contemporary painting.

Derouet also created a rose garden in the South of France, exclusively using the blooms from this garden in his artistic process. His work has been exhibited in esteemed institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art of Saint-Étienne, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Nice, Kunst Merano Arte in Italy, and Villa Arson. Additionally, his art has been featured at prominent international art fairs, such as Art Shenzhen, FIAC in Paris, and in Turin, where he participated in a duo show with Hans Bellmer.
