Separation is a series that explores the emotional and spatial tension between forms that are close, yet distinct.
The compositions often feature paired or mirrored shapes, loosely anchored in space, that seem to push against or pull away from each other — never quite merging, never quite apart.
Through the process of painting, I investigate the fragility of boundaries: how much can be held in closeness, and how much is lost in detachment. The surface of the canvas becomes a site of subtle negotiation — between presence and absence, between the seen and the sensed.
In these works, I’m not seeking resolution. Rather, I am observing the quiet emotional undercurrents that arise when things that belong together begin to drift — or when the space between them becomes more charged than the forms themselves.
