Oda
About Oda
Oda creates sculptural sound installations that serve as portals to distant natural environments. Oda's installations stream live audio from regenerating ecosystems around the world, creating authentic connections to the natural world. Through their "Fair Trade Sound" model, each installation directly supports the conservation efforts and local communities that protect these precious environments. Founded by artist and designer Nick Dangerfield, Oda represents a new approach to environmental art – one where beauty serves conservation and technology enables deeper connection to the natural world.
About the Macaw Sanctuary
The Macaw Sanctuary in Costa Rica represents one of conservation's most hopeful stories. Over the past 30 years, this remarkable project has transformed former grazing land into a thriving rainforest ecosystem that now supports over 350 bird species, 30 amphibian species, and nearly 70 species of bats. Led by conservationist Pablo Gordienko and his dedicated team, the sanctuary serves as a model for regenerative conservation, demonstrating how damaged ecosystems can be restored to vibrant life. The sanctuary's rich soundscape—from dawn choruses of tropical birds to evening symphonies of frogs and nocturnal creatures—provides a living testament to the power of dedicated conservation work and the resilience of nature when given the chance to recover
