Sophie Kitching

Biography
Sophie Kitching is a French-British artist born on the Isle of Wight. She captures natural phenomena in her work by reacting to her environment through found materials, colors, and forms. Her artistic process merges nature and architecture, exploring landscape as an active medium and intertwining territory and memory. Sophie Kitching’s compositions invite viewers into a dynamic conversation with space and depth, the seen and unseen, alternating between gestural brushstrokes and raw material structures.
 

Sophie Kitching graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2014 and studied Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts, New York in 2012. She has exhibited globally & made prestigious collaborations with brands like Ruinart and Bulgari. Her accolades include numerous awards, residencies in France and the US, and the publication of a monographic catalog.
