Biography
Sophie Kitching is a renowned French-British artist born on the Isle of Wight. Specializing in paintings, installations, and sculptures, she captures natural phenomena by reacting to her environment through found materials, colors, and forms. Her unique work merges nature and architecture, exploring landscape as an active medium and intertwining territory and memory. Committed to producing immersive spaces rather than static images, Sophie Kitching’s compositions invite viewers into a dynamic negotiation with space and depth, the seen and unseen, alternating between gestural brushstrokes and raw material structures, where different realities coincide.
 

Sophie Kitching graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2014 and studied Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts, New York in 2012. She has exhibited globally & made prestigious collaborations with brands like Ruinart and Bulgari. Her accolades include numerous awards, residencies in France and the US, and the publication of a monographic catalog.
