About this painting - Snake Tjukurrpa
This painting depicts the designs which are associated with the Snake Dreamings at Parraillpil on the north-west side of Lake MacKay. The snakes in their travels created many of the natural water courses and ranges throughout the region. The snakes ended their journeys at Lake MacKay where they were chased underground by the Dingo Men. This painting represents the caves and rock holes where the snakes disappeared.
