Félicie d’Estienne d’Orves, née en 1979 à Athènes Artiste plasticienne dont le matériau est la lumière, les installations et performances de Félicie d’Estienne d’Orves font appel à une connaissance phénoménologique du réel et interrogent le conditionnement de notre regard. Dans son travail, la lumière est à la fois l’outil et le sujet. L’artiste s’intéresse à la déɚ nition des limites de l’espace physique et cosmologique, par la lumière et sa vitesse. En 2022, le Lieu Unique à Nantes lui dédie une première exposition monographique, « Soleils martiens ». Pour l’Abbaye de Maubuisson en 2023, dans son exposition « Khépri, Sortir au jour », l’artiste raconte les destins croisés de l’humain et du cosmos inspirée notamment par les récits de l’Égypte ancienne sur l’immortalité. L’artiste réalise des commandes d’œuvres pérennes comme pour le Grand Paris Express dans le cadre du programme « Tandem » en collaboration avec l’agence d’architecture Dietmar Feichtinger (en cours) ou dans le cadre des Nouveaux commanditaires pour la ville de Louvain en 2022 (Belgique). Lauréate du prix de la Fondation Vasarely et artiste professeure invitée au Fresnoy Studio national des arts contemporains (Tourcoing) en 2019, son installation Eclipse rejoint cette même année les collections espagnoles, Beep Collection Electronic Art (Espagne) ainsi que la Fondation Iberdrola (Espagne).

Félicie d'Estienne d'Orves, born in 1979 in Athens, is a visual artist whose material is light. The installations and performances of Félicie d'Estienne d'Orves call on a phenomenological knowledge of reality and question the conditioning of our gaze. In her work, light is both the tool and the subject. The artist is interested in defining the limits of physical and cosmological space, through light and its speed. In 2022, the Lieu Unique in Nantes dedicates a first monographic exhibition to her, “Martian Suns”. For the Abbey of Maubuisson in 2023, in her exhibition “Khépri, Sortir au jour”, the artist tells the story of the intersecting destinies of humans and the cosmos, inspired in particular by the stories of ancient Egypt on immortality. The artist commissions long-lasting works such as for the Grand Paris Express as part of the “Tandem” program in collaboration with the Dietmar Feichtinger architectural agency (in progress) or as part of the New Sponsors for the city of Leuven in 2022 (Belgium). Winner of the Vasarely Foundation prize and guest artist professor at the Fresnoy Studio national des arts contemporains (Tourcoing). In 2019, her installation Eclipse joined the Spanish collections that same year, Beep Collection Electronic Art (Spain) as well as the Iberdrola Foundation (Spain).
