IN(SIGHT): Leclaireur LA, USA
As an extension of the exhibition IN(SIGHT) showcased in Leclaireur Hérold Paris, the works of American photographer, Lara Porzak moved across the Atlantic to Leclaireur's parallel space in Los Angeles. Experimenting within the west coast interior and ambiance, the space hosted a selection of never-before-seen prints.
Created over the course of 2021 in the landscapes of the American West using her old-fashioned cameras, Lara has continued her conquest of abstraction, allowing the impression to appear rather than a still, frozen subject. Blending nature and culture, this collaboration presents Lara Porzak in her native country with a subtle balance of old and new in a fashion and design Mecca.
"Lara's most recent work is striking for its play between the subject and abstraction. One loses the sense of what they are looking at to delve deeper into the romantic and mysterious vision of nature, Lara invites us in. Our most recent exhibition of Lara's photographic work was presented at Leclaireur in Paris, an old medieval stable converted into a unique concept store by Armand Hadida."
Leclaireur in Los Angeles is one of the landmarks for design and art, envisioned by Meryl Hadida as a Hollywoodian mansion. "This space was a perfect context to collaborate longer with the family and to present Lara's powerful analog work in ever-changing environments." Meryl Hadida
