Antoine Wagner’s drawing series functions as both a point of origin and a space of expansion within his practice. Each work emerges from a shared conceptual seed, yet unfolds as an autonomous variation shaped by gesture, rhythm, and intuition. The drawings operate like coordinates rather than images, mapping inner landscapes where thought, matter, and movement converge.
Named after longitudes and latitudes, each piece marks a precise location of wonder within an ever evolving artistic cosmos. These geographic references echo Wagner’s ongoing interest in the relationship between place, mythology, and perception, while underscoring the idea of drawing as a form of navigation rather than representation.
At once intimate and expansive, the series reveals a quiet dialogue between the hand and the idea. Through repetition and variation, Wagner embraces multiplicity and openness, allowing each drawing to remain unresolved, suspended between emergence and disappearance, silence and form.
