Blott Kerr
Wilson

Blott Kerr Wilson derives her primary medium from the sea — shells that flicker under the light to create undulating, iridescent surfaces. Her works irreparably respond to their surroundings. In the daylight, they take on a calming effect, reflecting the soft movements of the sun. By night, they take on the angular quality of artificial lighting — almost jewel-like.
Wilson’s most recent works dissolve the boundaries of traditional shell artistry by exploring the possibilities of limitation. Using only one or two species of shell enables the artist to work organically and to concentrate on the flow of the piece. The result is elemental work of extraordinary energy.
